Marathon relay

Shannon and I are running a marathon relay on Sunday the 26th. We are an a team with our friends Marty and Grace from church. This week we are running a rigerous training program this week and tapering off by the end of next week.

Run

Shannon ran a 5K with our friend Grace from Church last weekend. This is half way through the course where Marty (Grace's husband) and I walked down to see them pass.

Shannon and I drove up to the Groen's this weekend. Aaron and Alyssa were up visiting so we joined them. Here's a few shots of our trip. Most were taken on top of Blue Job, the local mini mountain. The photos represent the colors well, but the leaves are in full color right now. Beautiful!!! 

From our trip

Home Again

Just a short update. We are coming down off our trip high now after getting home yesterday around 3pm. Thank to you all who made our trip so wonderful! We started off by visiting Shannon's family in Michigan and celebrating her grandma's 90th!!! What a trooper! She's wonderful! We were at the aunt and uncle's lake house so we go to go tubing and jet-skiing too! Next we went to Hudson were we saw my family. Good eats, good swimming at the Fosterling's pool, and we got to see the newest member of the Rankin family, Eva! What a beautiful child! After that we drove to Philadelphia where Shannon's old roommate got married. I love weddings! The dancing, the reunions, the reminder of the sacred pledge that marriage is! It's so romantic and as you all know, I am a sucker for the romantic. I will be posting so photos and video from our trip soon.

D' News

Shannon is volunteering this week at a summer day camp called Backyard Bible Club. She's been heading up the worship for about 30 kids every morning and helping with snacks, skits and delivering kids back to their homes when the day is over. She's been busy and I am proud of her for her level of comitment and selflessness. 

Shannon's been busy! She has also been taking a sewing class from RISD continuing education. She has a new dress to show for it! They learned how to take their own measurements and use a dress form for draping and making the pattern. I cought the vision and decided to make a custom dress form from Shannon's measurements so she will now have her own dress form to make future projects on!

I am continuing to work in my studio painting. I am working on a six by six foot canvas of a forestfire by night. It doesn't look like much right now but hopefully soon I will have some photos to post.

Shannon and I will be in Hudson for a couple days in August. We can't wait to see all of you!

Today, 365 days ago

On this day last year, Shannon and I entered into matrimony. I would like to tell the world how wonderful it is to be married to one so beautiful and so smart as Shannon is and to one with so much heart. 

I would also like to thank all you who have kept us in your prayers. Without that fellowship of prayer, our lives as saints wouldn't be nearly as rich and powerful. The Lord is our Rock!

We are coming to town in only a few days and can't wait to see you all! I look forward to deep fulfilling fellowship. Let us all together bask in each other's presence.
